Ryxon®Injection 250/500/1g
(Ceftriaxone)

Ryxon (Ceftriaxone), a third-generation cephalosporin is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents useful in a variety of clinical situations. No one cephalosporin is appropriate for all infectious disease problems. Ceftriaxone's long half-life allows for once-daily dosing, making ceftriaxone an excellent drug for outpatient antibiotic therapy of community-acquired infections. Ceftriaxone is also useful for the treatment of Lyme disease and sexually transmitted diseases. The third-generation cephalosporin except for cefoperazone penetrate cerebrospinal fluid and are indicated for the treatment of bacterial meningitis. Their proven record of clinical efficacy, favorable pharmacokinetics, and low frequency of adverse effects make third-generation cephalosporin the preferred antibiotic in many clinical situations. Ceftriaxone is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the most effective and safe medicines needed in a health system.

Ryxon (Ceftriaxone) is indicated in all severe infections including

  • Sepsis
  • Meningitis
  • Abdominal infections (peritonitis, infections of the biliary and gastrointestinal tracts)
  • Infections of the bones, joints, soft tissue, skin and of wounds
  • Infections in patients with impaired defence mechanisms
  • Renal and urinary tract infections
  • Respiratory tract infections, particularly pneumonia, and ear, nose and throat infections
  • Genital infections, including gonorrhea
  • Peri-operative prophylaxis of infections

Each pack of Ryxon I.M. 250 mg contains :
1 vial with 250 mg ceftriaxone + 1 Amp.with 2 ml lidocaine 1%.

Each pack of Ryxon I.V. 250 mg contains:
1 vial with 250 mg ceftriaxone + 1 Amp. with 5 ml sterile water for injection.

Each pack of Ryxon I.V. 500 mg contains:
1 vial with 500 mg ceftriaxone + 1 Amp. with 5 ml of sterile water for injection.

Each pack of Ryxon I.V. 1 g contains:
1 vial with 1g ceftriaxone + 1 Amp. with 10 ml of sterile water for injection.
