Minoxidil is an FDA approved topical spray formulation for the treatment of alopecia (Baldness) and thinning of hair in females. Brookes Pharma is first company to launch this product in Pakistan. It has a direct vasodilatory effect on arterial smooth muscle, thus help in nourishment of hair follicle. Clinical results suggest a minimum use of four months before hair growth can be expected. Topical application of Minoxidil showed no systemic effect in the prescribed dosage i.e. 2 (two) applications per day.
Minoxin (Minoxidil Topical Solution USP) is indicated for treatment of androgenetic alopecia, expressed in males as baldness of the vertex of the scalp.
Minoxin (Minoxidil Topical Solution USP) is indicated for females as diffuse hair loss or thinning of frontoparietal area.
