(Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride)

Levocit (Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride) is the R-enantiomer of Cetrizine. It is a piperazine derivative and belongs to non-sedating class of antihistamines. Levocit is a long acting and has some degree of mast cell stabilizing activity. Levocit is almost free of antimuscarinic activity. Levocit is rapidly absorbed from gastrointestinal tract,it is highly bound to plasma proteins and has long elimination half life of approximately 10 hours. Levocetirizine is excreted in urine.
