Hypozam®IM/IV Injection
(Midazolam)

Midazolam is a short acting benzodiazepine, central nervous system (CNS) depressant. It is used as a pre-medicament, sedative in surgical procedures and for the induction of anesthesia. Hypozam (midazolam) interact with specific benzodiazepines receptors in the central nervous system, which are part of GABA-receptor complex. GABA is a major inhibitory neurotransmitter in CNS.

  • For induction of general anesthesia.
  • For preoperative sedation (induction of sleepiness and relief of apprehension) and also to impair memory of preoperative events.
  • As an agent for conscious sedation prior to diagnostic procedures e.g. bronchoscopy, gastroscopy, endoscopy, coronary angiography & cardiac catheterization.
  • In combination with nitrous oxide and oxygen (balanced anesthesia) for short surgical procedures.
  • For continuous sedation in patients in intensive care.
