Gen-Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) is a second-generation fluoroquinolone with a broad spectrum of activity that usually results in the death of the bacteria. Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic used to treat a number of bacterial infections. This includes bone and joint infections, intra-abdominal infections, certain type of infectious diarrhea, respiratory tract infections, skin infections, typhoid fever, and urinary tract infections, among others. Ciprofloxacin is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines, the most effective and safe medicines needed in a health system.

Gen-Cipro (Ciprofloxacin USP) is indicated for the following infections:

  • Respiratory tract infection including otitis media.
  • Gastrointestinal tract infections including typhoid and para typhoid infection.
  • Kidney and urinary tract infection.
  • Skin and Soft tissue infection.
  • Sexually transmitted diseases e.g. gonorrhea
